Overnight oats have to be one of the best healthy, make-ahead breakfasts for busy weeks – they only take a few minutes to make, and are so easy to customise. For the mornings you need an extra boost of energy, these maca and cacao overnight oats are a must.

Yellow maca is a fantastic super food for supporting energy levels, and can help you start the day feeling more balanced. Not only is cacao a delicious addition, it is also high in antioxidants and B-Complex vitamins. Just make sure it’s raw and ceremonial grade to enjoy maximum benefits,

This recipe provides 2 servings, so adjust the ingredient portions accordingly. Feel free to add any other nuts, seeds, fruit or toppings you like!

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl or two jars, divide the rolled oats, chia seeds, yellow maca powder, cacao powder, and maple syrup evenly.
  2. Pour 1 cup of almond milk into each bowl or jar.
  3. Stir each bowl or jar well to ensure all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Tip: you can put the lid on your jar and just give it a good shake!
  4. Seal the jars and refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4 hours, to allow the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and soften.
  5. Before serving, give the oats a good stir. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little more almond milk to achieve your desired consistency.
  6. Top your overnight oats with optional toppings such as hemp seeds, seasonal fruit, bee pollen and a dollop of nut butter.
